Last year we organised a poetry competition and the book of winning poems
has now been published and is available to buy on eBay. ‘Crying for the Lost Tigers’
The book costs just £10.
This booklet of 33 pages features the 30 winning poems from our fundraising poetry competition.
The competition took place in 2016 and was generously sponsored by
The Stow Brothers estate agents of Walthamstow.
Inviting people to send in poems about families—in all their aspects—brings up moving material. The 123 poems we received for our first ever poetry competition at Carefree Kids charity makes it clear that most emotions under the sun are evoked by putting feelings, thoughts and memories about this topic into words: the joy, stress, lack, longing, amazement, delight, reverence, humour, gratitude, anger, struggle, sadness, devotion, questions (‘Who is the parent and who is the child?’)
