Carefree Kids was delighted to receive a cheque for £1,500 in April 2015 from the Thomas Cook Children’s Charity.
The donation has been used to fund the purchase of specialist toys and arts materials to equip therapeutic play rooms in three additional schools.
‘We are invited to provide our service in at least three new schools every year,’ says Carefree Kids administrator Sophia Dalley. ‘We need to buy robust toys which will last for many years. They are subject to a lot of wear and tear by the children we help’.
‘We also need to buy adequate supplies of the items which run out, such as paints and play dough. We work in about 25 schools at one time. Having this generous grant from the Thomas Cook Children’s Charity means that we don’t have to worry about meeting these costs for a whole year.’
