Use your skills to help local children
We are looking for a new Chair to work with our dynamic board of trustees in providing leadership and strategic direction to our well-established charity.
Carefree Kids is a small local charity providing emotional support to children, teenagers and their parents and carers in Waltham Forest and neighbouring boroughs since 2004.
We use non-directive therapeutic play, art therapy, dramatherapy and dance/movement therapy to help release troubling emotions that may be difficult to communicate verbally or in other ways.
This rewarding voluntary role involves chairing trustee meetings approximately every six to eight weeks during term times (normally held in Walthamstow) and working with our dedicated staff team to ensure the objectives of Carefree Kids are met.
We are seeking someone who is dedicated and shares our passion for children’s mental health and wellbeing and can offer previous management or Board experience.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:
- a broad understanding of finance and governance issues facing charities
- strong leadership skills and the ability to lead strategic discussion and debate; and
- excellent communication skills and the ability to bring people together.
